This is a pure medicinal mushroom extract that has been standardized for polysaccharides. With hot water, polysaccharides are taken from the chitin cover of the mushrooms. In the extract, there are about 10 times as many polysaccharides as there are in the powder. 

Ganoderma extract is grown in an organic way and is standardized to contain 30% polysaccharides. 
Medicinal mushroom powders are made by grinding the fruiting bodies of the mushrooms, which have been carefully dried and then broken up into small pieces. A good sign is that the grain size is 0.125 mm.
